To apply for ITEM master's programme, the applicant must present a bachelor's degree or equivalent acquired education level. The study field of the bachelor's degree is not defined.

Students can apply for the master's programme even if they have not yet completed the studies required. They must however have completed the relevant degree before the enrolment deadline in the joint programme. If the diploma is not provided or not recognized at this later stage, the admission can be cancelled.


A proof of proficiency in English is compulsory and can be documented by one of the following possibilities (one of these is sufficient):
  • English language certificate: TOEFL with a minimum score of 500 points in paper based test or 70 points in internet- based test; IELTS with minimum score 6.0;
  • Diploma or document attesting that  previous education has been completed in English;
  • Other document confirming the level of English language;
  • Application for English language exam at ViA or KU (the applicant will be contacted with further instructions).
