The Association of Hotels and Restaurants of Latvia (AHRL / in Latvian: Latvijas Viesnīcu un Restorānu Asociācija / LVRA) was founded in 1993 to unite hotels, guesthouses, motels and restaurants for a professional cooperation.

- improves the quality of client servicing,

- arranges the hotel and restaurant market of Latvia,

- represents the hotel and restaurant business of Latvia in the world;

In order to achieve the above AHRL:

- represents the professional interests of national institutions and other organizations;

- participates in staff training, including training systems and programming;

- collects and analyzes statistical information about the hotels, guest houses, motels and restaurant customers;

- represents the hotel and restaurant business of Latvia in the world (regular participation in international tourism exhibitions - fairs);

- develops proposals for legislation and the perfection of standards and their approximation to national and EU standards.

AHRL  has currently 205 members, among them – also 5 educational institutions preparing tourism and hospitality industry professionals, ViA being one of them.

The Hotel and Restaurant Centre (HRC) was founded by AHRL in 1999 to carry out the implementation of State Standards in the field of accommodation and award certificates to accommodation providers.

AHRL is member of the International Hotel and Restaurant Association and HOTREC.
