Process and deadlines

APPLICATION PROCESS AND DOCUMENTS

All applicants are invited to register online. The following documents should be uploaded as part of your online application (please provide all documents except photo in pdf format):

  • Scanned copy of ID/ passport page with personal details;
  • Recent passport-size photo;
  • Letter of motivation in English (approx. 1 page);
  • Bank statement of application fee payment;
  • Proof of English language competence;

  • Diploma and transcript of records of previous higher education (with English translation, if necessary);

The original diploma and Transcript of records must be attached. If these documents are not in English, official translations must be provided. If you will receive your diploma later in the year (before the start of the programme) you upload transcript of already fulfilled courses. The copies of the diplomas acquired later than application deadline have to be sent by email. If the diploma is not provided or not recognized at this later stage, the admission can be cancelled.

Note: the copies of the educational documents received will be submitted for recognition by the Academic Information Centre of Latvia about the conformity of the educational documents acquired abroad with the standards of Latvia; for more information, see here.

DEADLINES

Deadlines for application for academic year 2016/2017:

  • Non-EU applicants: June 1, 2016
  • EU/ EEA applicants applying for state-funded study placements: July 1, 2016
  • EU/ EEA applicants (self-paying): August 31, 2016

Applicants will receive a confirmation of the submission of their application.

SELECTION PROCESS

Completed applications will be considered by the Admission Commission and students accepted in the programme will be notified within 14 days after the application deadline. Applications for students who require recognition of their documents in Latvia can take longer time, each applicant will be informed about the indicative lenght of the procedure.

REGISTRATION AND VISA PROCEDURE

Approved applicants will receive an Admission letter and information on further steps for registration to be carried out, depending on the type of funding applied for and selected. Students requiring visa will start the procedure after receipt of letter of acceptance, study agreement form, and tuition fee payment (if relevant).
